To earn 4% cash back each cycle, you'll need to:

Make at least 10 debit card purchases that post to your account
Set up at least one ACH deposit or withdrawal
Be enrolled in eDocuments (digital statements, notices, and tax documents)

If you miss a requirement in a given month, you won't earn cash back for that cycle.
