We’re proud to once again team up with The Salvation Army for the annual Adopt a Backpack program! From June 23 through July 19, 2025, all Maui County FCU branches will be collecting new school supplies and monetary donations to help local students start the school year with confidence—and the tools they need to succeed.
Donated supplies will be packed into backpacks and distributed to keiki across Maui County who need a helping hand. Every item and dollar stays right here in our community.
You can drop off donations at any of our branch locations in Kahului, Lahaina, or Wailuku during regular business hours. We’re accepting commonly requested school essentials like:
- Backpacks (no wheels)
- Ream of copy paper
- 3 Ring binders
- 2 Pocket portfolios
- Wide and college ruled compositions books
- Clear sheet protectors
- 3" x 3" Post It notes
- Wide and college ruled filler paper
- 4 oz white glue sticks
- Blue/black and red ball point pens
- No. 2 pencils
- 12" Ruler with centimeters and inches
- Watercolor paints with brushes
- Crayons
- Erasers
- Color pencils
- 6" Scissors
- Spiral notebooks
- Highlighters
- Scotch tape
- Tabbed dividers
- index cards
- Clear plastic pencil boxes
Monetary donations to The Salvation Army’s Adopt a Backpack fund are also accepted at all branches. These donations are 100% tax-deductible and will go directly toward purchasing supplies for students in need.
