The Marketing Specialist – Content Creator plays a key role in enhancing member engagement and acquiring new members through strategic content development. The specialist collaborates closely with internal teams to develop content that supports the credit union’s products, services, and promotional initiatives while ensuring alignment with brand identity and marketing goals.

Success in this role is measured by content performance, including increased website traffic, social media following and engagement, and conversion rates from marketing campaigns. The specialist is responsible for managing multiple content projects, optimizing messaging for SEO and accessibility, and analyzing key performance metrics to refine strategies. By leveraging strong writing skills, marketing expertise, and an understanding of financial services, this role contributes to the overall growth and brand presence of the credit union.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute content strategies that align with the credit union’s brand, mission, and marketing goals.
- Write, edit, and publish engaging content for the website, newsletters, email campaigns, and social media to enhance member engagement and acquisition.
- Manage social media platforms, create posts, monitor engagement, and respond to comments/messages to foster community interaction and brand loyalty.
- Design and distribute member communications, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and branding while incorporating content that highlights membership benefits and encourages referrals.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and develop content that supports products, promotions, and initiatives aimed at growing membership.
- Create content that highlights the credit union’s commitment to community service, financial education, and employee contributions.
- Showcase member success stories and testimonials to reinforce the “People Helping People” philosophy.
- Optimize content for SEO, readability, and accessibility to improve reach and attract potential members.
- Track and analyze content performance metrics to refine strategies, enhance engagement, and improve member acquisition efforts.
- Assist with marketing campaigns, promotional materials, and event marketing efforts to boost awareness and membership growth.
- Stay up to date on industry trends, credit union services, and financial topics to create relevant content that resonates with both current and prospective members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
Required Knowledge:
- Knowledge of credit union products and services.
- Understanding of sales and promotion techniques.
- Familiarity with local businesses.
Experience Required: 2+ years of experience in content creation, marketing, or communications (financial industry experience is a plus).
Skills/Abilities:
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of brand design principles and a strong eye for graphic aesthetics and visual consistency.
- Basic graphic design skills using tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite; formal education in graphic design is not required but familiarity is essential.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS), email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.
- Basic understanding of SEO, digital marketing strategies, and analytics tools (Google Analytics, Meta Insights, etc.).
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
